Today, Fourtané Jewelers is one of the leading estate jewelry, vintage watch and authorized Rolex, Patek Philippe, Tudor and Cartier retail stores in the country. Although the clientele now spans the globe and the store significantly expanded, still the original small, friendly, a

nd personalized atmosphere remains unchanged. Owner John Bonifas, who has forty seven years of jewelry experience, took over the business almost thirty years ago bringing new life to the store, as well as to Carmel's jewelry trade. Bonifas has acquired one of the finest collections of authentic fine antique and estate jewelry and watches from the 1800s to present day. It brought together a wide range of skills at the Cartier Manufacture, from the most traditional to the most innovative.

The introduction of the Cubitus Ref. 5840 in platinum with a perpetual calendar required a new square skeletonized movement Caliber 28-28 Q SQU. For the first time, the movement is presented in a monochrome version with sapphires replacing the traditional red jewels. The aesthetic is enhanced by a few touches of blue for the screws and the Calatrava cross, engraved and hand-varnished on the micro-rotor. Despite the complexity of the movement it houses, the case is extremely slim at just 10 mm thick.

The exceptional finishes contribute to the visual and mechanical harmony of an architecture comprising 313 components. This new self-winding movement can be admired through a sapphire crystal case-back.
