I have been working everyday to get the upstairs space ready by next week and it’s looking really great! I am tying up all the loose ends on the room design and still waiting on a few things. This is where my background in photo and interior styling is really coming in handy. Fun fact when I am not working on Gather Goods Co things and when the project is right, I am also a professional food, prop and interior stylist as well as photographer and have created projects for Better Homes & Gardens, The Food Network, HGTV magazine and more. It often entails making a room look beautiful and magazine cover worthy very quickly and lots of schlepping and installing of furniture, pictures, light fixtures, plants and more in a day or two’s worth of time.
I got the keys to this upstairs office (it was previously rented to a therapist) last weekend when I had a painter come in and immediately paint it. I staged and assembled furniture in another space and am still in the process of all of that. I’ll post final pictures in a few weeks when everything is all said and done but all the community coworking memberships will probably be filled by then since I am doing both simultaneously.
Here’s yesterday’s photo of the progress on the space. We’ve (and by we I mean myself and my kind, but would rather be relaxing, helpful husband) changed out the overhead lighting, hung some pictures, potted up some plants, built some benches, added all the lights to a smart system so they come on and off automatically, and a few other things. We are going over today and every day this week to finish up last minute things as well so it will be ready to work out of June 1st (which is next week). Though the walls are a pretty dark blue/green color I’ve added in a ton of cozy lighting and outlets too. It feels like such a relaxing and cozy space and I’m excited to work out of it when I need to get out of the house and not tidy shelves at the shop and manage other shop things but instead have a spot for admin work when my laundry room office isn’t cutting It.
