New from Fr. Mike Schmitz: "Face to Face: Preparing to Meet God through the Four Last Things"

One day, you will stand before the Lord face-to-face. Are you ready?
Meeting the Lord on the day we die is not a myth, a metaphor, or a hypothetical situation. It is a reality we will all face. The question is: How will you use the time you have been given to prepare for that moment?

In Face to Face: Preparing to Meet God Through the Four Last Things, Fr. Mike Schmitz invites readers to confront the realities of death, judgment, heaven, and hell with honesty, hope, and confidence. Through relatable stories, insightful teaching, and practical reflections, he offers guidance to begin preparing now for the day we meet the Lord.

In this book, you will find:
A deeper understanding of the four last things: death, judgment, heaven, and hell, and how they shape the way we live today
A four-step process for preparing to meet the Lord face-to-face
Guidance for overcoming the obstacles that keep us from being ready, including fear, regret, shame, and feelings of unworthiness
Encouragement to examine your life honestly, receive the Lord’s healing, and respond to his invitation with hope
Practical guidance to help you live with greater freedom, purpose, and readiness for eternity

Whether you meet the Lord tomorrow or eighty years from now, it’s never too early to start preparing. Discover how the Lord is inviting you to get ready for the day you meet him face-to-face.

NOW AVAILABLE: "100 Great Catholic Poems" from Word on Fire Publications

Poetry is the language of Catholicism. From the songs of Scripture to the hymns of St. Thomas Aquinas, the Church has always used metaphor and image, meter and rhyme, and the music of language to illuminate and inculcate the faith.

Yet, when it comes to Catholic poetry itself, the song too often remains unsung. Many devout believers recoil from poetry, even when it is deeply Catholic. Many poetry lovers overlook Catholic poetry, even when it is truly great. And passionate readers are left with few resources from which to draw inspiration—even as the number of great Catholic poems continues to grow.

This groundbreaking collection is designed to change that. Edited by acclaimed poet and author Sally Read, it includes a carefully curated collection of poetry with brief essays to introduce each selection; a detailed introduction and glossary of poetic terms; and a wide range of poetic voices—from giants like Dante and Shakespeare, to mystical saints like Hildegard of Bingen and John of the Cross, to modern masters like Gerard Manley Hopkins and Oscar Wilde, to contemporary female poets like Denise Levertov and Anne Porter. What emerges is truly universal: an unparalleled collection spanning twenty countries and twenty centuries.

Whether Catholic or non-Catholic, a poetry skeptic or a poetry lover, readers will glean from these pages a deepened appreciation of the history of poetry, the life of the Church, and the powerful ways in which each strengthens the other.

NEW FROM POPE LEO & Available at Divine Mercy Gifts: "Freedom Under Grace"

In his first book of original, never-before-seen writings, Pope Leo XIV offers readers around the world a window into the spiritual foundation that would lead him to the papacy―in his own words before his election.

Before becoming Pope Leo XIV, Robert Francis Prevost had never published a book. But shortly after his election to the papacy, Leo chose these previously unpublished texts to become his first published collection of writings: Freedom Under Grace. This wide-ranging book captures the heart of his spirituality, forged by the conviction that “man is not defined by what he possesses or what he knows, but rather by what he loves.”

This collection comes from Prevost’s time overseeing the Order of Saint Augustine, distilling his understanding of the Christian life today for individuals, local communities and churches, and the whole Catholic Church. Drawing on the rich tradition of Saint Augustine, Prevost advances an inspiring vision rooted in community and solidarity, commitment to social justice for the poor and marginalized, and the confidence that the gospel of Jesus Christ is what the world most desperately needs to face today’s challenges.

For anyone looking to Pope Leo for wisdom and pastoral guidance, Freedom Under Grace is essential reading, delivering profound spiritual depth, penetrating theological insight, and unwavering moral courage.
