WEEK 3: THE LEGEND OF HERITAGE HARRY 🦬

Every pawnshop has its stories.

Some are about incredible things that come through the door. Some are about the people who bring them in. And some are about the things that never seem to leave.

Which brings us to Heritage Harry.

If you’ve visited Heritage Loan Company, you’ve probably noticed him. He’s not exactly the kind of fellow who blends into the background. 😂

Harry has been a fixture of this shop since long before we purchased the business in 2021.

He’s watched the building change around him, merchandise move from one end of the shop to the other, and an entirely new chapter of the business unfold.

And through all of it?

Harry has remained Harry.

A little unusual. A little unforgettable. And exactly the kind of character who belongs at Heritage.

When we started planning our five-year anniversary collectible stickers, we knew Harry needed his own design.

And there was really only one phrase that could sum him up:

“HE’S SEEN SOME THINGS.”

Because if there’s one thing we’ve learned about this business, it’s that you truly never know what’s going to walk through the door.

WEEK 1 — HERITAGE TRIVIA 👀

Today we celebrate 5 years of Heritage Loan Company!

But the story behind our little pawn shop goes back much further.

It began in 1993, when the shop first opened as Advantage Pawn & Jewelry in a tiny storefront in Downtown Chandler.

And when we say tiny, we mean it. 😂 Somehow that little shop managed to hold jewelry cases, merchandise, a loan counter and everything else a pawn shop needed.

It stayed there for about seven years before moving around 2000 into the much larger building we still call home today.

For the first week of our Five Years of Stories, we’re sharing some of the old photos we’ve collected so you can see where it all began.

But you’ll need to pay attention to them, because the answer to our first trivia question is right there in the photos. 👀
