Each piece of my jewelry begins life as an illustrated story (included here with the jewelry it inspired). A profound sense of curiosity and wanderlust developed when, as a child of a military family, we moved often enough to keep things interesting. Those opportunities allowed me to form varied perspectives from many locations. Those early experiences I believe are the backbone of my aesthetic. I
create fanciful stories with beads. The story characters are sometimes human, but not always. They inhabit places that you and I would recognize, but they also visit where unusual things routinely happen. These are childlike habitats where alligators dance, and trees sprout riotous flowers. Magic-filled locations emerge where everyone celebrates under the stars without watchful, judging eyes. Large servings of adventure and whimsy are realized. I believe these charming snapshots of imagination show joy and say yes to life. They soothe the modern spirit by reflecting a sense of wonder. Come out and play. The weather is always fine. Come find a spot where you will be celebrated for who you are, and fun is around every corner. Jewelry and fiber design were my first art forms during childhood. Pottery, book-making and painting were my primary media the past few years until I began designing jewelry again. While formal art training is a part of my experience, I consider myself mostly self-taught. Teaching children and working with technology have been “day jobs” until recently. Now I'm a full-time creator. See the goodies here and shop for them @ www.GodsSisters.etsy.com
