I’m always in awe of what my students can accomplish in just one week while at Wildacres Retreat. I’m teaching at in Little Switzerland, NC again this summer and I would love for you to join me. Week 1 is July 12-18th “Metal + Jewelry” will focus on building your fabrication skills and stone setting and Week 2 July 19-25th “Jewelry Casting” will cover wax carving and the process of casting in bronze and sterling silver. Both classes are open to beginners, but would also be perfect for anyone looking to spend some quality time in the studio with a great group of creatives. One of my favorite things about making jewelry is that you are never done learning about your craft. I had the privilege of attending a wax carving workshop with the goddess of wax herself, Kate Wolf, and I learned so much. Having the person who invented the tools you’re using is a total game changer and unlocked so many new skills and ideas for me. Along with that I also got to spend time with so many amazing makers and my jewelry ride or die . My biggest take away is that playing is important and precision is possible if you know how to use your tools well. Thank you for having us Kate!!!

I’ve been busy in the studio making some new pastel and spring inspired pieces to share with you this Sunday, April 26th at the Art Charleston Artisan Market hosted by the Gibbes Museum of Art. Spend your Sunday sauntering around the streets of downtown and come visit a group of the most talented makers Charleston has to offer just in time for Mother’s Day gifting or treat yourself to something new to celebrate the new season. I will be vending from 1-5pm and would love to see your faces. If you’re not local I will be adding the new pieces to the shop after this event. Hope to see y’all Sunday!!

Thrilled to announce I will be teaching this summer at “Art in the Blue Ridge” at Wildacres Retreat in Little Switzerland, NC. Truly one of my favorite times of the year with some of the most fun, creative, and supportive creative people. If you’ve ever wanted to learn about jewelry making (or one of the many other studio offerings) and would like a summer retreat in some of the most picturesque locations in the NC mountains look no further!!

WEEK 1 July 12th-18th “Metals + Jewelry”
- We will cover the basics of metalsmithing creating rings, hollow forms, and a few stone setting techniques through a few project based lessons and lots of studio time to play, create, and ask questions.

Week 2 July 19th-25th “Jewelry Casting”
- We will cover wax carving, wax manipulation, the step by step@process of lost wax casting, casting sapphires in place, and finishing your pieces to polished perfection.

Take one week or take both for an immersive jewelry education. Both classes are great for beginners to intermediate students looking to brush up their skills and to have access to a studio filled with tools.
