I have 2 spots left in my new ✨Casting Stones in Place Workshop✨ and I would love to teach you all about one of my absolute favorite techniques in the studio. We will modify waxes by carving seats for some multicolored glistening sapphires and I will show you two techniques for setting them in place. Here is the lineup of Fall Casting Classes coming up in my studio. I’m offering up 2 shorter 3 hour Workshops “Signet Ring Carving” and “Casting Stones in Place” both would be wonderful for beginners to intermediate students looking to learn some new skills. If you want to do a deep dive into the process of wax carving and casting I’m also listing another 2-day Casting Workshop that includes a live casting demo. Perfect if you want to see the behind the scenes action and possibly want to explore wax carving and casting further. Week 2 at Wildacres Retreat focused on Wax Carving and Casting✨ I love offering both techniques so students can explore both sides of jewelry making and get a behind the scenes glimpse of the casting process. Everyone did some lovely carvings and we even learned to set sapphires in place. So proud of these makers and their lovely pieces all made in just one week!!

Wildacres was a blast yet again so want to give you a little behind the scenes of both weeks spent teaching in the mountains of Western North Carolina. Week 1 “Metals + Jewelry” focuses on fabrication basics up to intermediate skills building students confidence at the bench and with soldering. I had 9 incredibly talented students this session and I was so thrilled with all of the work they completed in just one week. I teach this class annually so if you are interested in attending next summer keep following and I’ll let you know as soon as registration begins💕
