On this Thanksgiving day, a wonderful man with a mission and friend Oscar Gorbet has passed away.

Oscar started and selflessly ran Oscar’s Kids to help local kids with muscular dystrophy. In the time he had ran Oscars Kids he raised over a hundred thousands of dollars for MDA, all while putting smiles on people’s faces across Livingston County.

Please keep his family and friends in your thoughts and prayers today and in the days ahead. Oscar will be missed, but we will be sure to help carry on his tradition.

I was privileged to meet this man who had nothing but generosity in his heart and approach me about the Boy Scouts of Fairbury troop 1870 to help him continue his legacy. Last month when he handed over his check to the MDA. He made it publicly known that we (troop 1870 Boy Scouts of Fairbury) were taking on his mantle, and we are proud to do so. We hope we can do him proud as he watches us from above raising in his name.
