Moonstone 🌝💎 It is associated with those born under the signs of Gemini (May 21st - June 20th) and Cancer (June 21st-July 22nd). There is not a particular time frame of when Moonstone was first discovered, but they have been found and spoken about for thousands of years. Notable deposits have been found in Switzerland and Southern India. In India, Moonstone is revered as a sacred, lucky stone and a traditional wedding gift, and one that is believed to bring harmony to the marriage. Both ancient Romans and Hindus believed moonstones were created by trapped moonbeams or drops of moonlight. Famous Roman natural historian, Pliny the Elder, wrote about the Roman belief that Moonstones were made from solidified moonbeams. They knew that something special was happening within the stone, but it would not be until later in history that scientists discover that the mineral adularia gives moonstone its silky, glowing sheen, creating the special phenomenon called adularescence. “The energetic frequency of Moonstone encourages us to pay attention to the cycles of our lives. With each cycle our wisdom, understanding, and self-knowledge are increased.” - The Book of Stones.
