I did it, the seemingly impossible and daunting at times. I built a brand, a company from scratch.
It was 2008. I was newly single and a new mom. I was determined to be able to raise my son in his early years while working from home, on my schedule, on my terms. One late night, as my son slept upstairs in his crib, I opened up a small notebook and jotted down a list of ridiculous goals. Like create a jewelry line, become a household name, be featured in national magazines, etc.
I didn’t have a background in business or legal or design or public relations. But I had a ton of grit and a little bit of courage. And it probably helped that hearing the word “no” pushed me harder. I look back at my 20-something-self in awe. These goals seemed unattainable at the time, almost silly.
Inspired by my son, my Proud Mama®️ and LifeNotes®️ collections have taken me far. From celebrity endorsements, meetings with Macy’s and other major significant players, editor-chosen features in major national magazines, a TMZ spot!, working and collaborating with people and companies around the globe, and helping YOU celebrate your story with meaningful and sentimental jewelry; it’s been a WILD ride.
After 11 incredibly full years of jenny present®️, my aspirations have shifted. I now have a new, small notebook of ridiculous goals. It is with such bittersweet pride that I am announcing my retirement from jenny present®️. What an unbelievable run it’s been, and the lessons learned have been invaluable.
I am eternally grateful to my loyal customers who have allowed me to bring a bit of joy into their lives, while at the same time being able to fulfill a dream of mine. This, too, would not have been possible without my enormously positive support system, my champions that believed in me along the way, and the women that worked alongside me over the years.
As the jp tagline states, “More than just an accessory - it’s jewelry that tells a story.”. What a fantastic chapter of my story I now have.
With much gratitude,
jp

I will continue to run the website for a bit longer (www.jennypresent.com - you better grab what you’re eyeing, like now!!), then eventually move some one-off items to my Etsy shop to create and sell there as a hobby (https://www.etsy.com/shop/jpstyle).
