Congratulations to Jaman Dunn-Danger a former CMA collegiate.

What an extraordinary honor to be included on the Gateways Music Festival website alongside some of the most brilliant, musical, and virtuosic conductors of our time. To stand in artistic community with leaders like Anthony Parnther, Damon Gupton, Jeri Lynne Johnson, and the late Michael Morgan is both humbling and deeply inspiring.

Each of these maestros represents excellence, integrity, and a profound commitment to amplifying the richness of Black artistry within the orchestral tradition. I am grateful to be counted among such distinguished company and to contribute to a legacy that continues to expand the sound, scope, and spirit of classical music.

With gratitude, reverence, and great joy. 🎶✨

Honored. Grateful. Humbled. ✊🏾✨
This Black History Month, I had the incredible privilege of being recognized by Assemblymember Alex Lee and City Councilmember Peter Ortiz. To stand alongside six other outstanding individuals making a difference in our community was truly special.
I am especially humbled to have been the only honoree to receive two awards. I don’t take that lightly. I see it as a reflection of the work we are all doing together to uplift, empower, and serve.
Thank you, Assemblymember Lee and Councilmember Ortiz, for this recognition and for your continued commitment to celebrating Black excellence and community impact.
This moment isn’t just about me — it’s about legacy, service, and the responsibility we carry to keep building. 🖤

Today’s the day!We look forward to seeing you this afternoon.

Today’s the day!

We look forward to seeing you this afternoon.

The Chicago Music Association proudly presents the 2026 Black Heritage Concert, an electrifying celebration of Chicago jazz, past, present, and future.

Spanning generations and styles, this unforgettable evening features powerful performances by the Musical Arts Institute Jazz Band, Darrin Rose & Company, acclaimed Chicago vocalist Felena Bunn, and dynamic tap artists Daniel Tré Lee and Emaneyah Walker of MADD Rhythms.

The program also highlights the artistry of singer, songwriter, and instrumentalist Amyna Love, alongside vocalist and choir educator Isaih Brown, adding fresh voices and bold vision to the night.

Rooted in tradition and moving fearlessly forward, this concert celebrates jazz as a living, breathing art form while advancing the Chicago Music Association’s mission to uplift African American–based music and the arts.

Join us as we honor legacy, ignite community, and share the unmistakable sound of Chicago jazz with the world.
