Guess what time it is?? Embroidered Christmas ornament time-finally!
Switching from beading to hand embroidery should be easy but it takes me a while to get in the groove and rhythm of ‘painting’ with thread. So I started with tiny little trees that will end up in these little grapevine wreaths. Then I moved on to a little bit larger hoop that is going to be a wreath. I plan to cut a bunch of felt ornament shapes today so I can begin on those as well.

One more ceramic beaded snowflake ornament before I turn my full attention to embroidered Christmas ornaments.
The snowflake is another one by Lisa Peters ART because of the colors in this one I stitched it on gray velvet. Love the way it turned out. Made a video so you could see the sparkle from the crystals in the snowflake and the fire polish Czech beads. Still needs a backing and a ribbon.

One more Halloween piece before I get serious about making Christmas ornaments!!
This polymer clay/resin cabochon was a by Dorothy Supri at Skyline Beads
The Skelly’s Bow inspired me to use another one of my silk shibori experiments.
The color of the silk complements the flowers on his/her hat and bow perfectly. Just needs a ribbon at the top and some felt backing.
Looking at this photo now and the golden bronze petal beads along the right side almost look like teeth😂

Crazy busy week and I am scrambling to finish projects, price and inventory pieces for the artisan market in TWO weeks!! And we decided to take a break and head to the mountains yesterday while the weather is still mild. Sooooo, this is almost finished.
I added lots of sequins originally and it was too much. I edited and decided to use gold thread to stitch the sequins in mimicking snowflakes. Then I went back and added a sprinkling of tiny sparkly beads. It needs a ribbon and backing but I might be done with the sequins. I don’t want to overwhelm or distract from the lovely tree.

Lookie loo-Christmas is on my mind right now. Working on this piece while also working on one more Halloween piece.
This lovely tree is by Lisa PetLisa Peters ARThappen to have some vintage Belgian sequins that are very close in color to the blue glaze in the background of the tree. So I may be stitching some sequins floating around the tree😊

Finished the pumpkin/shibori silk bracelet. Lots of seed beads and Czech glass beads nestled in the folds of the silk. I used a vintage metal clasp that I have had in my stash for eons. I think I bought it at a bead show in Chicago at least 12-13 years ago??
The ceramic pumpkin is by Lisa Peters ART and the bracelet is rather large at 7.5” but I tend to make bracelets to fit my wrist and then they don’t fit anyone else’s 😂 I have a tiny baby wrist!

Put the finishing touches on this necklace yesterday. I used large faceted smoky topaz Czech glass beads, the same green Picasso finish Czech glass beads that were used in the pendant, some smaller darker green Czech glass beads and copper beads to finish this lovely necklace. The ceramic shield cabochon is by Lisa Peters ARTand it’s paired with Morrisonite jasper.
