I love a good jewelry upgrade!

This client came in with a TON of jewelry she’s had for years that she never wore. A lot of it was gifted to her over the years, so we had a ton of beautiful stones to work with. We knew this was going to be a multi-step project, so we focused on the one that excited her the most - a set of diamond rings.

We wanted something organic and interesting. We wanted them to stack together, yet hold their power on their own. We wanted texture and depth, but to keep it low profile so it’s practical.

The way the light dances on these stones in their new setting was mesmerizing. This cluster setting had character and balls, while staying feminine and divine.

Something I hear all the time is “I don’t know how to start my necklace stack”. A well curated collection generally isn’t built in a day (similar to Rome), so I always remind people to take one step at a time. It’s ok to have a starting point and build as you go.

I like to recommend starting with a charm that is anchored into a short chain. This is not only a super comfortable place to begin, but it can easily become your NTO (never-take-off) piece. This will be the necklace you can leave on in the shower or the gym and even sleep in it if you’re someone who doesn’t like to bother with removing jewelry.

Each of these pieces have extra loops on the chain so you can wear them at multiple lengths to go with a variety of necklines and necklace combinations. They’re easy, gorgeous, interesting, and the most perfect place to start.

I was scrolling through my photos today to find a perfect post that encompassed one of the various stages of motherhood I’ve encountered so far.

This was from the summer of 2019 when I was a SAHM with two 2-year olds. Every day was the same, but a little different. We had our routine, we had loads of time, and I tried to find ways to keep my toddlers stimulated enough so that they would take a nap that day.
 The bubble machine was on heavy rotation this summer, along with bare bodies that danced in the sunlight that peeked through the canopy in our backyard. Being sans clothes was always easier than dressing two feral cats.

The days were long and filled with so many laughs, but also so much loneliness. Being clocked into “Mom” 24/7 was more taxing than I ever imagined. I had longed for this through all the fertility treatments and years of negative pregnancy tests, so any sadness I felt was instantly met with extreme guilt. How dare I want a break when there are so many women who are still yearning to be called “Mama”.

Motherhood is full of a level of emotion that you never knew your body had the capacity to feel. From love, to guilt, to helplessness, to empowerment. Everything is magnified in the most messy and beautiful way.

Happy Mother’s Day to all of those incredible caretakers out there, and those who are still waiting.
