Okay, so I spilled the tea yesterday… we’re moving to the place we’re choosing to call home. 📦

Here’s part 2: We’re moving VERY soon. As in… the Solshine shop is officially closing next Monday while I get everything moved + set up in our new state.

So before I temporarily shut Solshine down, we’re doing one last little hurrah.

I’m ready for this new era of Solshine - and life. 🥹

Military life took us places we never would’ve imagined. Hawaii was so good to us. Corpus Christi was so, so good to us. And while every place became part of our story, Corpus will always hold an especially tender place in mine.

I’ve never really talked about this here, but that season in Corpus became one of healing for me -but I’ll leave that for another post. ☺️

These past few months, I’ve spent a lot of time simply being present. Reflecting. Getting clear. And somewhere along the way, I realized that the grief of infertility and losing my daddy no longer has the hold on me it once did. Anxiety is no longer making my decisions for me.

I feel lighter, y’all. More like myself. And genuinely excited about what’s ahead.

So much of that healing happened while building Solshine, surrounded by people who gave me opportunities, encouraged me, showed up at my pop-ups, shopped with me, shared my work and reminded me to keep going. I will carry that love with me forever.

And now, for the first time, we’re not moving because the military told us where to go. No, no. WE CHOSE THIS MOVE.

We’re selling our home. Letting go of what we built here in Texas, the place we’ve called our official “home” for almost 10 years.

That’s scary, but it also feels like FAITH.

I’m praying that the community we’ve chosen to call home receives us, and this brand of mine, with the same love we’ve been lucky enough to experience everywhere military life has taken us.

Because if there’s one thing this chapter has taught me, it’s that I can’t walk into what’s next while holding tightly to what’s behind me.

So we’re letting go of everything. Like… everything. 😂 Our hands are open.

We are ready for new people. New opportunities. New memories. New dreams. A new home. And a whole new era of Solshine. ✨

A very realistic day in the life of a small business owner. 🫠

Today I wore the accountant hat. 🤡 I spent 3 hours reading and staring at my laptop, trying to pay IVU / PR taxes, figuring out changes in Puerto Rico’s tax system… and somewhere in between, I packed half an order. 😂

That’s the funny thing about running a business. My time disappears into a hundred little places you’ll probably never see.

Not every day is creative. Not every day is exciting. But every single part keeps Solshine moving. Gracias por estar aquí! xx, Sol
