Be Joyful, Drink Coffee. Exceptional coffee doesn't just happen. It's a long process that starts at the farm where the coffee is grown. Coffee isn't just a beverage, it's a way of life. Coffee growers earn their income and support their families growing this product. Some of the best coffees come from farms and co-ops that take the most meticulous approaches in growing and care for their crop. Gro
wing and caring for this crop is a way of life and livelihood for the sometimes multigenerational families who are involved in this part of the coffee process. After the crop is grown and harvested, it goes to a processing facility either on or off the farm and is processed and dried into green coffee beans. This also involves meticulous attention to removing the pulp and mucilage, bean sorting, removing undesirable beans, and drying the beans to a specific moisture content to prepare for sale and shipping. Many coffees go through a process called "cupping" at this point so that green coffee buyers can determine the quality of the coffee(s) before they purchase and negotiate a price. Those who work at the processing facilities use this as a means to support their families and it's their way of life. Then the coffee is imported by the buyers and sold to coffee roasters like Joyful Coffee Company. Where we then, meticulously roast the coffee in the precise way to bring out the beautiful flavor notes, overtones, and undertones that you taste when it makes its way, through the brewing process, into your cup. We take pride in how we roast our coffee to bring out the flavors that accentuate the different parts of the life cycle of coffee. From growing, to processing, to roasting, to brewing, to tasting and enjoying. Coffee isn't just a beverage, it's a way of life! Be Joyful, Drink Coffee!
