Badlands Dutch Bunnies & Silver Fox Silver Fox & Dutch Rabbitry located in Western North Dakota. ARBA registered, raised to the breed standard for show & meat. Boy has it been a challenge!

My name is Emerald, I am from Montana but moved to ND in 2013. We started rabbits after our first mix farm store bun had kits, raised them up and then decided it would be a fun hobby for my son & I. So upon researching breeds in our state and area, I fell in love with the Dutch. We drove 3hrs for our first doe and I picked up my first sweet buck on my way home from Montana. Ours have done well for 4H youths & some are family pets. It was when my family & I were down in Colorado on vacation that I decided on Silver Foxes, never had I seen one in person. But I knew I wanted a second breed & decided that a rare heritage breed would be challenging. But I absolutely adore both breeds & are hoping to eventually feed our family & dogs consistently.

I was loss for words when I opened this packaged. Not seeing it was from our National Silver Fox Club.

The recognition was unexpected, and is very much appreciated. Our journey with the breed began four years ago, and I struggled to find rabbits that fit the standard as i interpreted it without having seen one in person.

To now showing and having them as my main breed. They've become my most beloved rabbits in my barn.

We are thriving not only as a club, but as a breed to be the first to graduate off the Livestock Conservatory. Silver Fox Rabbits set the standard for when a Rare , Endangered or Critcally threatened breed can graduate off the list.

A huge win for the breed and a very big pat on the backs to all the breeders with Silver Fox in their barns.

Thank you so very much to our club for the surprise! I have it already in a frame and hanging on the wall 🥰

Can we talk about feet?

We recently had two of our Silver Fox rabbits disqualified for white on the feet.
Not from an injury. Two that were a DQ are the first and second in this group of photos.

Suns out, Buns out.

Going through our Silver Fox for Convention entries today. Barn blindness is real. After 4yrs, I still get humbled by those I keep to grow out longer than necessary. 🫣
