Rodney Wood (born 1951 in Denver, Colorado) is an American self-taught painter and former mixed-media sculptor.
Early in his career, his artistic practice was heavily dominated by three-dimensional arts, including metalsmithing, mixed-media sculpture, and jewelry making. Wood has noted that much of his early jewelry heavily featured intricate symbolism and cultural motifs.
Wood specialized in 3D media, working as a jewelry designer, bronze foundry worker, and sculptor. He later operated a Colorado Springs gallery called Thunderstruck, which focused on 3D wall art, jewelry, and industrial “Mad Max” style watches.
In 2006, he completely shifted his focus to oil painting. To fully commit to this new direction, he famously disposed of all his metal-smithing and jewelry-making tools. ⚒️
These two signed “Rodney Wood, 1975” cuffs just landed in the shop. Both are made of solid sterling silver. The octopus cuff features a freeform cabochon of natural fire agate, while the grasshopper cuff showcases three elongated ovals of bloodstone. ~8” wrist fit.
