🚨 BURN BAN REMINDER 🚨

DO NOT BURN!

Cleburne County remains under a burn ban, and the entire state of Arkansas is at HIGH RISK for wildfires.

DO NOT BURN ANYTHING. PERIOD.

Current conditions are extremely dangerous for outdoor burning. A small fire can quickly get out of control, threatening homes, property, lives, and the safety of our firefighters.

The use of charcoal grills for food preparation is allowed as long as it has a lid or a way to be covered. Please ensure the coals are completely cooled before disposing. Hot coals can easily start a fire.

This is not the time to take chances or assume you can safely control a fire. Do not burn brush, leaves, trash, or any other materials. One careless decision could have devastating consequences.

Help us protect our community and keep our firefighters from having to risk their lives fighting preventable fires.

Risk levels are determined by fuel conditions, drought status, and long-term weather forecasts. They are categorized by how easily fires can start and how hard they are to contain. The risk level definitions are:

We got some strong winds in Drasco yesterday! Our flag pole is history!

Please be patient with our hardworking linemen as they are out in this weather trying to get over 2,000 outages resolved.
♧Also, if you don't currently have the First Electric App, it is great for reporting outages, viewing outage maps, and often seeing potential restoration updates

Feeling discouraged! Two burn ban signs were stolen during this burn ban. That makes 3 that DFD has lost! Why!?! I just don't get it!

Hey Folks!!
We know the smoke is concerning, but as of 4:20 p.m., nothing near us or in our district is actively on fire. The National Forestry Service is currently conducting prescribed burns in the Sylamore Management Area today, as well as other parts of the state. This combined with significant winds and extra gusts has carried thick smoke and haze to Drasco, Ida, Tumbling Shoals - down Dry Mtn, all the way to Wilburn.
Departments have been paged and were out looking until we were made aware of activity outside of our county. We know it's a little unnerving, but hopefully that's all the excitement we have for today!
