Life is a journey. It's not easy. It takes stepping out, putting in effort, walking in faith, and a greater purpose. It's comforting to know, that although we each have our own unique path, that we are not alone.

This is why I chose to partner with Trades of Hope earlier this year. I have struggled for years looking for something meaningful to contribute, some greater purpose to fuel my vocation.

I've found that with Trades of Hope, knowing I'm contributing actively toward empowering our artisans out of poverty and harsh conditions and it's wonderful to know that I'm not alone.

Trades of Hope is full of people like me, all unique, who are passionate about making a difference in the world and helping our artisans.

When I joined Trades of Hope, I didn't just join a missional company, I joined a family, full of compassionate entrepreneurs, seeking to change the world for the better, one item at a time.

This is the beginning of my story. This is my journey. -

For today's Artisan Spotlight, I'd like to introduce you Jimmy, one of our artisan partners in Haiti:

Jimmy is a dedicated young husband and brand-new father of a 2-month-old baby boy! As a new husband and father, he’s able to provide for his wife and son, even in an unstable local economy in Haiti, by working as a metal Artisan making fair-trade products like our We Will Rise Set.

Jimmy wants to buy a home for his family one day and hopes his work will continue to allow him to provide for their needs. Every purchase of our We Will Rise Set helps parents in areas of extreme poverty provide their families with essentials like food, clothing, and safe housing.

Approximately 20% of our Artisan partners are male. Providing jobs for men in areas of extreme poverty – husbands, fathers, brothers, sons, and uncles – supports our mission to keep families together by providing parents with enough income to prevent the need to give up their children to poverty orphanages.

Trying to get some nature and disc time in. Unfortunately, it's starting to rain and I have a headache, and the guys in front of me are playing slow, making for a combined challenge I don't feel up for conquering today. Oh well, I got a little sunlight, heard birds chirping, threw some plastic(even just a few times),walked a little. I guess these days we're learning to count even the smallest victories, right?; Something we probably should have been doing all along. In the grand scheme of these, I'll take it.
