We were delighted when longtime HH friend Jean Fox O’Barr stopped by this week to talk about jewelry and the late great Gloria Steinem with Sarah.

Jean is the founding director of the Duke University Women’s Studies Program and led the program for almost 20 years (1983–2001). In 2000, she was named Distinguished University Service Professor at Duke University, the first woman to be named in school history.

Back in 2001, when HH was brand new, Jean was a supporter and sounding board — from addressing postcards to encouraging Sarah to be an entrepreneur to sending clients our way.
