Happy Monday, friends! I spent some time back home so family can meet little girl, but I promise I’ll be sharing details of a collection restock soon 💛 Also, to be a bit on the vulnerable side, I want to acknowledge the difficulties of postpartum. To be honest, I was hoping to be on a set routine with baby and creating pieces as much as possible, but I feel like a failure when I say I’m not there.
Some days I want to be productive and feel like everything is going to be okay, but most days have been difficult. Sometimes I feel like a fraud trying to be upbeat and positive because I just don’t feel it.
After I had my second baby, I struggled with postpartum psychosis. It was horrific and I truly cannot describe the horrors I lived. I would hear my sweet, little baby screaming but she was actually in my arms peacefully sleeping. I was convinced something bad was going to happen at all times. Hearing things that weren’t actually there is a nightmare I pray no one has to face.
Thankfully my husband, family, and friends never left my side. Everyone made sure I got the help I needed. I’m happy to say I am not experiencing the psychosis this time, but the depression and anxiety are far worse than what I’ve experienced before.
I’m not sharing this for attention or pity, but to spread awareness and let others know I’m a safe space for these conversations. Postpartum and mental health is not talked about enough. We may be in an era where we are seeing more open conversations, but the judgement is still there. Until everyone is supporting, advocating, and willing to listen, it will never be talked about enough.
I know I’m risking judgement from this post alone, but if it helps another mom out there, then I’ve accomplished what I set out to do.
I cannot thank all of those who have reached out enough. You make my days brighter 💛
