I was chopping away taming a wisteria and on my last chop saw I had exposed a cardinals nest with 2 eggs. The mom came back and continued to set on them and they hatched. Thought I had a picture of them as tiny balls of pink skin but couldn’t find it. The last week these little birds have grown and developed on a daily basis so much it’s hard to believe. Momma sets out there and feeds them but always flies away when we step out the back door. I can watch her through my window by my chair. I was worried since I had cut all their foliage away they’d fry in the sun so I cut some big mullein leaves and draped them and the mother has left them and flies in on the side w/o disturbing the leaf protection. I have to cut a couple new ones every few days because they curl up and wither. Such sweet nature. 🪶🪺
