It was a leadership meeting with our managers in Honduras...and I had asked what their goal for 5 years was. "30 artisans with a job." Their hearts beat for their sisters from Faith Home that are struggling to keep their family fed and housed because jobs are so scarce for women. They work so hard everyday fashioning our jewelry! This month we are asking our Joy-Partner stores and our Joy-Creator customers to be extravagant with their reorders and shopping because we are striving to take this first step and hire our first artisan. If you have been waiting to be part of that 'final push' at the end of the month, we need you today. The new summer line is stunning! You'll find so much you want, and it's not just shopping, it's making a choice to use your shopping to empower a young woman with a safe, living wage job. You are voting against gifts and accessories made in sweat shops with child and slave labor. (cheap has a steep cost). On Sunday's I post our prayer requests on our Prayer Partner blog and ask our Joy-Creators and Joy-Partners to pray with us. Alegria was a calling from God on my life to create jobs for women who have aged out of Faith Home. A job is crucial to stop the orphan cycle and trafficking plague on women and children. When mom can work in a safe place and feed her family, children are cared for and traffickers lose their power to lie and manipulate. You can be involved by praying for Alegria, and then choosing to buy all of your accessories and gifts through us, where you know your funds are directly creating jobs. Thank you for helping us intervene in the life of one more young woman in Honduras this month with your prayers and with your shopping. 🙏🛍️💝
