Here's a Metal Man Minute story you won't forget.

His dad owned a liquor store in Bridgeport, CT. Workers were tearing down old saloons nearby and pulling gold and silver coins out of the floorboards from the 1800s. They'd come in and pay for their drinks with them. Some were worth serious money.

Quick question: do you know the difference between gold-filled and gold-plated eyeglasses?

It matters more than you think.

Gold-filled frames are legitimate optical scrap with real gold content ranging from 1 to 5%. Gold-plated frames have a coating so thin it's barely worth measuring. One pays. One doesn't.

If you have old eyeglass frames sitting around from an estate, a storage unit, or years of collecting, the Metal Man wants to hear from you. We buy gold-filled optical scrap when you have at least 100 troy ounces to send in.

Here's something most people in healthcare facilities don't realize...

Those used electrophysiology catheters, the ones with the colored wires and small silver bands, aren't just medical waste. They contain platinum, palladium, and iridium.

We buy them. We love them, actually.

If your facility has been accumulating ETP catheter scrap, it's worth knowing that there's real precious metal value in those wires. The marker bands alone contain recoverable metal that most people walk right past.

Give us a call at 800-426-2344 to talk terms. Minimum of 30 to 40 troy ounces to get started.

Ever wonder what those little gray buttons inside old industrial relays are worth?

Turns out silver cadmium contacts have been hiding real silver value inside factory equipment, elevator controls, and breaker cabinets for decades. Most people have no idea they exist, let alone what to do with them.

We put together a post breaking down exactly what silver cadmium contacts are, why older equipment is where the real recovery potential lives, and why cadmium requires a refiner who knows how to handle it safely.

If you're doing industrial teardowns or sitting on electrical scrap, this one is worth your time.
