Camp Verde Glauberite Collecting Trip

March 16, 2024

Meet at the McDonalds parking lot located at SR260 and I-17, exit 287.
Time: 10:00 AM Saturday March 16th.

We will be collecting at a couple places and all are accessible by car or truck 2wheel drive.

Please wear comfortable clothes and closed toe shoes as there is a little walking on uneven ground. All that is needed for collecting is a small bucket or bag to carry your found items.

There are a couple hotels in the area, Days Inn (928 852 0124) and the Comfort Inn (928-567-9000) are just a couple, if you want to stay on Friday night to avoid the drive up in the morning.

We will leave the parking lot area by 10:15 heading to the collecting site

F6 lower west orebody, Sweetwater mine, Viburnum Trend, Reynolds County, Missouri.
13 cm tall.
The main Calcite crystal is 7 cm tall and a gemmy, deep golden color.
