Yes, it happens often. It’s frustrating because it devalues women veterans. We are already not seen and heard in the military. We leave as veterans and we continue to live in the civilian world unseen, unheard, undervalued as women veterans this affects our worth. The continuation of feeling unworthy definitely takes a mental toll on women veterans. The VA doesn’t see or acknowledge the detrimental long term effects of how they treat women veterans.
