I can get pretty emo when I think about the state of the world. Living in a reality where our minds have been hijacked & where we’re so addicted to doing what’s convenient rather than what’s right, it’s no wonder we’re killing ourselves and causing suffering to anything & anyone who falls in our destructive path.

There is who we think we are, and then there is who we actually are based on our actions & our thoughts. I recognize the role that I play as a gatekeeper for colonization just by being a member of US society—despite my desire to be the opposite.

Every single day we choose, to live for the betterment of our community, for the betterment of ourselves, or for the betterment of our oppressors. Who are your actions and thoughts supporting?

I wrote this song in 2014 for the 4th of July. Still have the same feels. We gotta do better in our minds & in our deeds.

Edit: it was actually 2015

Plantain is medicine; yet often it is commonly referred to as w**d. It is so important to reshape our perspective of what is and what is not useful in our daily lives.

Plantain is a staple in my apothecary. Dried leaf for long-term storage. wild-harvest is abundantly available.

For irritations, make eye- soothing teas, poultice for the skin, or compress of dried plant matter in cheese cloth.
For eye drops- 1:1 plant to h2o ratio. Use RO (reverse osmosis) or distilled water only. Discard and remake after two days use stored in a cool place.

Do, of course, at your own risk.
you may find you rely on the doctor less

Grandma called it Medicine leaf - common plantain, known as "life medicine" can be used for treating bites and stings, sunburn and other skin ailments.
