Another beautiful sign along my journey:

I wanted to share another beautiful experience that recently happened in my life. Over the last month, I’ve been weighing the pros and cons of an opportunity I’ve dreamed about for so long — having a storefront of my very own. After a lot of thought, reflection, and listening to my heart, I finally decided to take that leap of faith and move forward. There has been this undeniable energy pulling me toward this opportunity. Of course, there has also been hesitation, uncertainty, and fear. Taking a chance on something so meaningful is never easy, especially when life has changed so much in such a short amount of time. But I’ve been trying my hardest not to let fear make my decisions for me. I kept asking for signs. I kept praying for reassurance that I was making the right choice. And time and time again, I found myself being drawn back to this opportunity, feeling a sense of peace and excitement that I couldn’t quite explain. Yesterday, as I sat down with the seller to sign the paperwork and make this dream a reality, something happened that stopped me in my tracks. Overhead, I suddenly heard the song “You’ll Be There” by George Strait playing.
For those who may not know, this was the song I chose for my husband Steve’s celebration of life.
The moment I recognized it, I said, “This is the song I chose for my husband’s celebration of life,” and I completely broke down in tears.
The seller turned up the music and graciously gave me the time and space to take it all in. In that moment, I allowed myself to feel everything — the grief, the love, the uncertainty, the hope, and the overwhelming emotions of stepping into this next chapter of my life. I can’t explain why that song played at that exact moment. I can’t tell you with certainty what it means. But I can tell you what it meant to me. It felt like a moment I was meant to experience. Here I was, taking a leap of faith into a future I had been dreaming about, while carrying the heartache of learning how to navigate life without my husband by my side. And in the middle of one of the biggest decisions I’ve made since losing him, I was reminded of a song that holds such a special place in my heart. I had been asking for signs, for reassurance, and for a little comfort as I found my way forward. And in that moment, I felt something that brought me to tears in the most beautiful way. Maybe these moments are reminders that love doesn't end when someone leaves this world. Maybe they are little pieces of comfort that find us when we need them most. Or maybe they simply remind us that even in our deepest grief, life can still hold beautiful surprises, new beginnings, and reasons to keep believing. I know this next chapter will come with challenges, hard work, and moments of uncertainty. But I also know that I don't want fear to keep me from living, growing, and pursuing the dreams that still live in my heart. I am choosing to move forward with faith instead of fear, with love instead of doubt, and with an open heart to whatever beautiful things may lie ahead.
As I take this next step with Nevada Cowgirl Creations, I carry with me the memories, the love, and the life Steve and I shared. I wish more than anything that he were here to see this dream unfold, but I am grateful for the moments that bring me comfort and make me feel connected to the love that will always be a part of me.
Yesterday was more than signing paperwork. It was an emotional reminder that even when life takes us through unimaginable loss, there can still be new beginnings waiting for us.
And sometimes, just when we need a little reassurance, a familiar song can touch our hearts in a way that words never could.

“I love you most.”

Steve, I carry that love with me into every new chapter. Always.

Another touching moment I’d like to share that I experienced over the weekend after deciding to join another event for my small business at the Candy Dance in Genoa..

An older couple stopped by, and the woman tried on a few hats while her husband helped her decide which one suited her best. She chose one, and he purchased it for her. She said it was an early birthday present, then turned around and gave him a big kiss to thank him. The smile on his face was absolutely priceless. I thanked them, and they continued on their way. Witnessing the love between the two brought a moment of joy.
A moment later, another customer came up and said’ Did you see the smile on that gentleman’s face?” I told her I had, and she said, “You know, you are reason for that smile, don’t you?” I couldn’t help but find so much peace in that moment. It was a beautiful reminder that even the smallest acts can create unforgettable memories. I just wanted to share it.

Last night, I stepped out to participate in our local w**e walk, a venture I hoped would help distract me as I navigate this challenging time after my husband’s passing just a month ago. The evening was filled with laughter and conversation, and as I served w**e and shared my products, I felt a sense of normalcy returning, if only for a moment. As the sun began to set, my daughter and I started packing up our things. That’s when a couple approached, asking if we had any w**e left. We happily obliged and began chatting. To my astonishment, the woman revealed that she had gone to medical school with my husband over 30 years ago in Kansas. Somehow, both decided to move to Nevada to begin their careers. She recounted stories from their time together, I was flooded with memories and emotions. We laughed over shared anecdotes, and tears flowed freely as she painted a picture of my husband during his youth—his humor, his kindness, and the adventures they had shared. In that moment, I felt an overwhelming connection, as if my husband was right there with us, reminding me of the bonds he had formed and the lives he had touched. By the end of our conversation, I was left in awe of how life can sometimes weave the past and present together in the most unexpected ways. I returned home last night feeling a mixture of disbelief and gratitude, touched by the kindness of strangers and the enduring memories of a beloved husband. This experience reminded me that even in the darkest of times, moments of light can break through, connecting us to those we’ve lost and bringing solace in the most surprising ways.
