There’s a crispness in the air that makes this one of the best times of year in Grand Lake. The seasons are turning fast, and the Boardwalk is as cozy and beautiful as ever. It’s a wonderful time of year to visit and enjoy the seasonal change in the mountains. We have new offerings arriving daily, and the selection in the shop changes dramatically week after week.

We have new photos from the collection we received last week, along with other items that have arrived within the past several days. The shop is filled with antique, rustic collectibles that are unusual and rare—pieces with real history behind them.

Notably, among the latest finds are an original carbide gas miner’s lantern accompanied by its original supply canister, which relied on water dripping onto calcium carbide to produce acetylene gas for the flame. We have a variety of hand-hammered copper pots dating from the 17th through the 19th centuries, and a set of remarkable frontier sketches from 1898. Plus, authentic leather pieces dating back to 1886. So much history is packed into these new pieces.

(Please note: We do not sell or carry fi****ms. The vintage r***e stocks pictured are strictly the wooden stocks only—no barrels, receivers, or working actions are included or kept on-site.)

This week, we received an extensive shipment of new merchandise. The acquisition of this collection of Colorado memorabilia represents an 18-month journey to get it to Grand Lake and into our possession. Below are details about many of the amazing offerings that are available now.

Gaucho and old-fashioned western chaps.

Authentic cradleboard with beaver pelt and beaded medallions.

Included in our new collection of Indian items are antique concho belts from the 1920s and 1930s.

Thunderbird necklaces made during the Great Depression of the 1930s by the Santo Domingo Indians. We have five new pieces of this type that came along with a huge collection of Native American antique and collectible pieces. These were handmade at Santo Domingo using materials available at the time. They did not have access, because of the Depression and the poverty that was in place at that time, to silver or turquoise to make other things. This was what they made, and we do have five new offerings. Very old and very collectible.

Handmade Navajo Sterling iced beverage spoons—both rare and unusual silver.

Sterling silver miniature vessels.

Wooden boxes filled with core samples from the silver and gold mining days in mid-19th century Colorado. The collector from whose estate these are from was someone who focused on mining memorabilia, so we have a lot of pieces that remind you of the early days of silver and gold mining in Colorado.

Six-piece set of solid wood dining chairs.

We also have a new collection of antique and vintage Navajo rugs.

W**e rack handmade by Grand Lake’s one and only, the late Steve Cormey.

Lady's collection of Christmas decorations.
