J.M.A.A.T Designs is a mother-daughter run business that provides a modern twist to traditional African-wear, creates glass beaded accessories from Somanya, Ghana, and retails designs from around Africa. represents the first initial of the names of all our family members, representing the generational and familial influence on our products. In our store, the department "Awo's Handmade Creations" b

roadcasts my mother's finesse and stunning creativity with a sewing machine. My department, "Yokuah's Secret: Beaded Accessories", combines the rich traditions of Krobo beads from Ghana with the novelty of modern-day patterns. The Adinkra symbol on our logo represents the combined talents of mother and daughter, for "two heads are better than one". We also retail handmade products from the women of Street Girls Aid, a non-governmental organization (NGO) in Ghana that educates, supports, and houses homeless girls who live on the streets of the capital, Accra. These handcrafted goods are sold to fund these women's lessons, facilities, and everyday needs at the NGO. 100% of the profit from sales in our store goes to Street Girls Aid. JMAAT Designs was in full display during Dede's traditional wedding. From the bridesmaids dresses, to all 6 of Dede's bridal outfits, Awo poured her heart into every stitch and hand selected each fabric. She even sewed her own dresses for the big day! God bless a mother's love for her daughter.
