🎉One hundred years ago in July 1926.......
construction of the stucco farmhouse was completed!
🏡The Von Trotha Brothers dismantled three silos from other properties they owned and used the clay tile bricks to construct the house which they then stuccoed to cover the differences in the bricks.
🐓It was thought the house was built with the intention that when one of the Von Trotha brothers decided to get married, they would live there. However, Conrad Firestien and his family were the ones who actually lived in the home from 1926 to 1990. Conrad and his brothers were tenant farmers for the Von Trotha Brothers.
🛠️When built, the house had an indoor bathroom, running water provided by an artesian well and cistern, and was wired for electricity, which didn’t arrive in Bracewell until 1937. The home was heated with a coal furnace and even had a heated garage.
