On Sunday, April 21, 2024 from 12:00-2:00pm, we will hold Strides for GAPS to raise awareness and funds for the Greenville Area Parkinson’s Society. Strides for GAPS (originally Strike out Parkinson’s) began in 2019 to give the upstate community the opportunity to support one another and celeb....

April is Parkinson’s Awareness Month. My dad was diagnosed with PD about 4 1/2 years ago but not until the past few years has it been life changing for him. Not only does it impact his day to day but also my mom and our family.
I joined a committee for GAPS Greenville Area Parkinson Society about a year ago for Strides, our Spring fundraiser. Over the past year I have attended support groups, coffee talks ( educational), socials, exercise programs, and joined the board. I have learned so much from the programs hosted by GAPS but so much for myself and my dad by other people with Parkinson’s at these events. All programs and events are FREE and are funded by our Fall (Water Cooler Classic) and Spring (Strides) fundraisers and any other donations.
I have a team for our Strides event. I would appreciate any support or donations. All are invited to come join us Sunday, April 21st at Conestee Park from 12-2. We will have a 0.4 mile walk ( lap around the loop), vendors, free refreshments, music and activities for children.

I hope to see you there!
