To our LaLonde Jewelers family, our neighbors, and our friends throughout Grosse Pointe Farms:
We are deeply touched by the extraordinary honor recently bestowed upon the memory of Dan LaLonde. The City of Grosse Pointe Farms presented a mayoral proclamation celebrating Dan’s life, legacy, and commitment to his community along with a memorial bench and plaque that now stands in front of our store. The bench is a lasting tribute where friends, family, and customers can pause, sit, and remember him.
Dan gave nearly three decades of his life to this community, sharing his knowledge, his craft, and most of all, his warmth with everyone who walked through our doors. Along with his wife Cindy, he built LaLonde Jewelers & Gemologists into more than a business; he made it a gathering place, built on trust, generosity, and genuine care for the people he served.
To Mayor Gillooly and the City of Grosse Pointe Farms: thank you for recognizing Dan in such a meaningful and permanent way. This gesture means more to us than words can express.
And to this incredible community, thank you for the outpouring of love, memories, and support you have shown Cindy, our staff, and Dan’s family during this difficult time. Every kind word has been a comfort.
Dan’s legacy lives on in this store, in this community, and in the bench that now bears his name. We invite you to stop by, take a seat, and remember him with us.
