We know it's a bit of a mouthful. It's an unusual name for an unusual shop. The unique, the practical, and the handmade all come together to offer a little bit of something for everyone on your list. The name itself is a reflection of the creative mix brought to you by two sisters who combined their passions to share with the public all under one roof.

'Sassafras Moon' represents our artistic cre

ations. With a glass studio and a large jewelry bead selection, many of our wares come to life right here in our shop! Others are handmade by local artisans. We feel it's important to support local and area crafters and AgriMissouri products.

'World Gifts' represents our fair trade items. Fair trade is a system in which we work with certified organizations to import and offer hand-crafted goods that are created by people of developing or impoverished communities all over the world. Cutting out exploitative middlemen, they are able to make a dignified living with fair wages, which helps them to help themselves. We knew this undertaking would require a unique space, so our building was specially designed and constructed. Ground was broken in February 2004, and five months later Sassafras Moon World Gifts opened its doors. You can find us in the community of Hallsville, Missouri, just ten minutes from Columbia.

Our SALE will continue through next week and BEYOND. NEXT WEEK, I will open on Tuesday at 2:30 pm and close at 5:30 pm. There is a lot I need to sell, and I find more and more everyday so there will be more available as the days pass. Some things have never been out to sell here. Surprises await your arrival!! Tuesday April 1st begins our final clearance sale. I am going to be open from 3 pm- 6pm Tuesday-Friday. Clothing items 75% off, cards 1/2 price, jewelry reduced at least 1/2 price. Some consignment items will be reduced in price. The sale will be ongoing until everything is gone. I will be selling fixtures too so reserve those items if you are interested

I will be participating in the Hallsville City Wide Garage sale this weekend. I have so much to get rid of that I really need some volunteers to help me carry stuff downstairs and get ready to sell as much as I can. I will pay you with merchandise if you would like. As many of you know, I have closed my business. I hope this is temporary, but health issues are holding me back. I still have a lot of stock and do custom stained and fused glass in my studio. I use my cell phone to communicate with people (posted on the door) so people can reach me. I know many of you want to come from out of town so I will post the number. I am hesitant due to problems I might have in doing that, but I am willing to open for people if I know in advance that someone is coming. You can preschedule a visit to the shop by calling: 573.234.0240. 123 Hwy 124 E, Hallsville, MO, North of Columbia, MO on Route B (Paris Rd. in Columbia until you reach the traffic signal in Hallsville. Look (and turn) to the west and we are in that large round front building with parking off of Elaine. Unfortunately, now that the city has taken down the historic building on the corner, 😔 it is easy to see us.
