Garrick Jewelers has offered our customers vast selection, unsurpassed service and the highest quality product lines. Our reputation is important to us, and it is our goal to remain the local, independent jeweler who offers more and who offers the best. Garrick Jeweler's co-founders, Rick Foye and Gary Bond, met while working together at a local

jewelry store in the early 1980's. In 1993 they made the decision to branch out on their own and combined their names, their resources and their business experience to create Garrick Jewelers. In September, 2001 Garrick Jewelers relocated from the North Hanover Mall to their current location on Eichelberger Street. Their elegant, 5,000 square foot, freestanding store is a testament to the commitment Foye and Bond made to their community and each other over a decade ago.

🦪 How exactly do pearls form in nature? 🦪

Pearls are formed when a tiny bit of sand or material gets trapped inside an oyster. The oyster produces a “nacre” as a defense mechanism that coats the intruder, layer after layer. A pearl is formed naturally in only 1 in every 10,000 oysters.

Freshwater pearls can take between 1 and 6 years to form; whereas saltwater may take between 5 and 20 years. The longer a pearl stays in the shell, the more nacre that forms and the larger the pearl. Freshwater pearls can grow to be just as big as saltwater pearls, but they take less time to develop because the layers of nacre are not as compact as those surrounding the saltwater pearl
