Honestly I thought I would be a little sad, but I am at peace. And really I feel tons of weight lifted off my shoulders. That sweet little shop got me through a divorce, and was my place of peace for 2 years. It was a place where me and my kids, and my parents gathered for donuts every Saturday morning, lunch Saturday afternoons and I’ll cherish those moments forever. It was where returning customers became family, and a place where everyone who walked in became our friends. Thank you all from the very depths of my soul for such an amazing run. I never thought a small pop up side business that a built in my dining room would give me so many opportunities. This isn’t the end, just a chapter closing and I’m so excited and looking forward to many more adventures with Weld & Shine. With the cost of living outrageous, and the cost of gold and silver increasing constantly managing a brick and mortar was sucking the joy of out of something that use to give me purpose. Having a small business in a small town is not for the weak, but is impossible and disheartening when people in positions to promote downtown Harrodsburg work harder against you than with you or for you. Sometimes all it takes is a simple share on social media, treating all small businesses the same, and promoting every vendor at events not just alcohol and food sales. Please support what small businesses are left downtown, their struggles are real, and it takes a village. I will be posting upcoming events and pop ups later, but for now, peace ✌🏻 out 104 w poplar! ❤️
