We’re all set up for the Outlandish Hillsborough Scottish Festival at Ayr Mount. 10 - 4 today! I have over very 100 pieces of 1800 - 1900s Scottish jewelry as well as some necklaces and earrings I made selling from $10 - $12. There are lots of vendors all around me! Come on out on this beautiful day or hit up the shop downtown, where maybe we won’t be as busy since we have about 2,000 folks coming to the Festival!

I’m inventorying over 200 fresh pieces hitting the sales floor tomorrow for New Stock Friday, including some fab purses and colorful & carved Bakelite bangles!

But this brooch, as I’m entering it in inventory, really speaks to me. It’s from the 1880s, hand-forged sterling, with a star and flourishes indicative of the period. Kind of like its own firework! It’s not perfect, but it’s the imperfectness that makes it endearing and reminds me these were made by hand and never alike. To me, it’s the perfect July 4th piece.
