TL;DR: I’ll be on maternity leave January–March 💙
Poptone turned nine this year. It all began in 2016, when I was working in immigrant advocacy for the South Florida branch of . I loved that work, but the designer–entrepreneur in me craved a creative outlet—so I started making jewelry in my spare time. I had no idea that this hobby would grow into a career that carried me through multiple life chapters, two cross-country moves, the birth of my daughter, divorce, and single motherhood.
There were years when this little business was our lifeline—supporting me as a single parent and giving me the flexibility to pick up my toddler from preschool every day. We evolved from full-on crisis mode, to stability, to eventually buying a house in Milwaukee, WI. I’m forever grateful to you—my loyal customers and steadfast wholesale partners who kept restocking and cheering me on through it all.
Somewhere along the way, Charlie joined our story and life got a whole lot sweeter. This year we decided to grow the little family we’d become, and we’re thrilled to be welcoming baby brother in early January. I’ll be taking maternity leave for the first three months of the year, and ordering will be paused on Faire, Etsy, and Poptone.co at the end of December.
