If you’re new around here, my name is Lisa Marie Emmitte. I am a self-taught, modern turquoise, jewelry, designer, and silversmith originally from Philadelphia and residing in Houston for the past seven years.

My mission is to inspire self-expression and celebrate individuality and the adventurous spirit through bold handcrafted jewelry that features modern design and outstanding craftsmanship! Every piece starts out with a unique handpicked authentic stone designed to express its natural beauty and built by hand from silver sheet and wire in my modest home studio. All 8 runway jewelry looks are officially planned out and coordinated with my fashion designer. I am so proud of this collection, featuring some pieces I have already made as well as some brand new pieces I am working on. This collection has a wide range of looks and stones and encompasses a wide range within my personal style. As a silversmith who does not (yet) have a huge inventory of stones to work with, I am very proud of what I have come up with and I can’t wait to share everything when these pieces walk the runway on 8 badass models February 7th!

Last night, this White Water Turquoise Necklace raised $1,250 for the The National Wild Turkey Federation The mission of the National Wild Turkey Federation is the conservation of the wild turkey and the preservation of our hunting heritage. I was excited to learn a few weeks ago that one of my amazing customers is on the board of his local NWTF Chapter in Mercer County Ohio and working on acquiring donations for their annual banquet.

As a small business, I strive to give back where I can and to donate handmade pieces, gift cards, time or make monetary donations to support organizations and nonprofits that resonate with my values and animal conservation and outdoor recreation are definitely at the top of the list (along with special needs and human trafficking).

It was an honor to be able to donate this handmade necklace to raise money for the National Wild Turkey Federation and I could not be more proud that it was able to draw in $1,250 to support their mission!

Sometimes the best use of your time is doing something for others. There is always time to volunteer.

The start of this year has been a lot. Things I had hoped to wrap up before the end of 2025 got pushed back. I’ve had a lot of days running all over the city and I’ve been fortunate to spend a lot of time with family. And events have begun for the start of the Houston Rodeo season.

I’ve spent a lot of time working on the computer and have neglected social media and honestly haven’t been able to start putting fire to metal for the first new pieces of the year, with some very big events coming up.

It would be easy to say I am too busy. It would be very easy to say I do enough volunteering with being on a committee for but there is always enough time to add a couple extra hours of volunteering into your week. Time to slow down, to leave the phone in the truck, and help a someone experience the joy and therapeutic benefits of being on a horse.

On February 7, 2026 my modern turquoise jewelry will be featured in its first Runway Show in Fort Worth, TX. This will be the Fashion Frontier Show in the heart of the famous Fort Worth Stockyards! It is just over a month away and I still cannot believe this is happening. This is a huge milestone that I did not even know was a possibility for me and the best part is that it is an opportunity that I made happen for myself, which I could not be more proud of. Tickets are currently on sale through Runway 817 Fashion!

In the fall of 2026, my modern turquoise jewelry will be featured in a museum exhibit! This is an incredible opportunity I did not foresee and just another one of the many ways joining the Galveston Chamber of Commerce has been one of the best decisions I’ve made for my business. The Bryan Museum is a history and art museum housed in the former Galveston Orphans' Home, showcasing one of the world's largest collections of artifacts, documents, and art from Texas and the American West. This museum included rare fi****ms, maps, fine art and in this special exhibit, my jewelry! I had the pleasure of meeting the museum director at a holiday event last month and we got talking about my jewelry because she absolutely loved the piece I was wearing. As the exhibit won’t be until the fall, there is still a lot of planning that needs to take place but I will definitely be sharing as much as I can about to process once things are underway. And who knows, there may be an opportunity to purchase some of my jewelry in the museum shop
