This person is listed with several common friends that I believe all came from this page. Please search your personal page friends list and remove this person. It is believed to be untrustworthy. I will be putting some security measures in place to avoid this happening in the future.

To our wonderful family and friends, near and far,

We want to let you know that our beloved husband/dad/rooster, Richard Hull, has died today, Tuesday, September 24, 2024.

He was diagnosed with liver cancer in July, and has been declining steadily ever since. We took him to the hospital on Friday, and on Sunday made the decision to transition him to comfort care. His final days were spent at my hospital, being cared for by all my favorite coworkers, exactly how he likes to be in a room -- surrounded by women. 😏

You will be happy to know that one of the last lucid things Richard said to us was a really terrible and corny joke that we can't even remember the specifics of because it was so awful. 😂

In honor of Richard, please pour a drink, watch an episode of Law & Order, and make yourself the weirdest sandwich you can think of. We love you all, and we thank you for your love and support.

Love,
Stacey, Geneva, Wesley, and all of our rooster's hens and chicks

Today is Veterans Day. It always brings back memories of the year I served with the Navy Seabees at Camp Haskins, Red Beach in north Da Nang harbor from Tet 1969 to Tet 1970. I was attached to the Third Naval Construction Brigade. The commander was a Rear Admiral. He had 2 Naval Construction Regiments reporting to him. The Regiments had about 100 Seabees assigned. There was 12 Naval Construction Battalions reporting to him. Each batallion had 800 Seabees assigned, so a total of approximately 10,000 in country. In combat the Seabees report to the U.S. Marine Corps. So we were part of the Third Marine Amphibious Force de CT C. We have the Fleet Marine Force combat insignia on our Vietnam Service Medal. The Seabees supported USAID’s Civic Action program. I volunteered to work with a couple of refugee villages about a mile from our camp. I would ask our troops to donate $5 per month to pay for the students school tuition and books. I would give the money to the village priest. There was also an orphanage in the village run by 2 nuns. We would take cake and ice cream to the nuns so the kids could have a party. Our Brigade Commander for most of my year was Rear Admiral John Dillon. Admiral Dillon graduated from Washington State University in 1942 with a degree in Civil Engineering . He served in WW II, the Korean War, and the Vietnam war. His wife would have clothing drives at her church. She would send boxes of clothing to him. He would pass them to me and I would take them to the village priest. We also would invite some of the village students and their teachers to our camp for a cake and ice cream party. I also taught English to the teachers. I will try to post some pictures here.
