http://hbrcsailboats.gostorego.com/ Inspired by Volvo Ocean Race Boats , H.B.R.C. The mast is light weight and rigid.

SAILBOATS has tryed to capture the excitment of the most awsome mono hulls on the planet, the F1's of the sailing world. The boats are made from vacumm formed plastic, with three bulkheads, a keel trunk and wood backing at all mounting points, the hulls are very strong, rigid, and light weight. The keels and bulbs are highly engineered metal forms, water jeted, hand foiled, with a cast led bulb.

Much attention was paid to the ballance of the boats which allows for the huge sail area. With a dual rudder system, the boats are very responsive, The mast very accurate in detail, is a three speader rig with a mast crain, jumpers and diamonds, braided dacron cord with stainless S hooks. The sails made by Ullman Sails, Newport Beach are full paneled, hi tech, performance sails designed by pro sailors Erik Shampain and Kieth Magnussen

In the big boat sport sailing world the theory and shape of hulls has evolved, the look that has taken hold in racing boats like Volvo Ocean Race and IMOCA boats has evolved to a wedge shaped hard chinned planning hull. Our concept at H.B.R.C. was, if this was the look of the fastest, toughest boats on the water, why wouldn't we be using these designs for the next generation of RC model sailboats also. The results is a tough RC sailboat that's thrilling to sail, it can be sailed in big wind, take on wind chop and blast through it like the big boats do, with out water intrusion or breakage. The size of the boat at 48" long with the rig at 57" tall is key to the boat success, it flows beautifully over the water, but isn't so big that it become a problem to transport. The keel and mast are easily removed to fit any vehicle. The boat is very simple to rig and sail, the class is adamant about keeping the boats very affordable with as few moving parts and rigging as possible, equal for all sailors, and most of all keeping it fun. The boats are very hand made, one at a time in a shop in Huntington Beach , CA Each boat is made up from 95 hand made or shaped parts. each boat take's about a week to build, each boat is built with care and perfection to please there sailors. The boats are fully built upon delivery, the sailor only needs to Paint the boat, install his Radio and two servos, select his sails from several VO 70 sail makers, that's it, your ready to sail the newest boat class on the water, the VO 70 Open Ocean Racer
