Some of our most favorite, painterly opals from custom projects this year! Every single one of these opals was chosen as a loose stone out of our collection and each one had a different fate: a set of earrings—a ring—a pedant—a pair of gem dangles.

Some opals "flash" like they contain trapped lightning ⚡🌩️ "Common" opals lack this flash of light, but they all contain the beautiful depths that are so special in opals.

This pendant is paired with turquoise for obvious reasons, but the two stones are distinctly different after close study. The opal is less rock and more ice, crystalline, with natural matter trapped in its matrix. Features reminiscent of frozen seaweed poke up from an obscured lake floor 🌊🏞️
