Underwood’s is a proud member of the American Gem Society (AGS) in which only the most ethical, educated and consumer protective jewelers are qualified to join. In fact, there are only a couple of AGS jewelers in Jacksonville, FL. Through the AGS and Gemological Institute of America (GIA), we are able to send our staff to diamond educational training classes which is a mandatory program within our company; thus, giving us the most educated diamond, jewelry and gemstone staff in Florida.

Recently, our President, Michael Richards, and Vice President, Denise Richards, who also happen to be husband and wife, had the wonderful opportunity to visit the Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD) and learn more about Jewelers Mutual's incredible $10 million, 10-year commitment to supporting the next generation of bench jewelers!

Bench jewelers are a rare and incredibly talented breed, and their craftsmanship is truly the heart of our industry. With fewer young people entering the profession, preserving these skills and encouraging the next generation has never been more important.

Underwood's is proud to have contributed to this initiative because we believe investing in education and hands-on training is essential to keeping this extraordinary craft alive for generations to come.

We are so excited to be part of this program and look forward to what the future holds for Underwood's, SCAD, and Jewelers Mutual!
