This show is ALWAYS worth a walk through! So many fab RISD artists and designers exhibiting their work….
The show last May was cancelled due to weather so we’re all poised to present!
I’m looking forward to showing my newest collection, the Elysian Dream Collection, inspired by combining an intrigue with Greek mythology with my architectural hand-fabricated forms - juxtaposing the ancient with the contemporary. Each cameo references a Greek mythological figure, which of course embody particular characteristics. Which one might you relate too? Jewelry, ornamentation, is truly personal and can be empowering as an expression of oneself.

This piece, Matera, inspired by the juxtaposition of the architecture and rock formations of that ancient city, was selected for the Providence Art Club National Juried Exhibition. Which is exciting for me, as the work is a new venture.
This collection of miniature wall sculptures has allowed me to move from the body to purely sculptural works. I had entered art school as a sculpture major, but soon moved into the light metals/jewelry department. I then discovered I had an affinity for metal and was naturally drawn to creating sculptural pieces for the body.
The common denominators between the sculpture and the jewelry, for me, are spatial relationships: scale, interaction, perspective, proportion, orientation, and the transformative experience created by the convergence of all. And the metal! The elements of metal and stone attract me endlessly. I will always seek out the essence of form, the elemental, and the spirit found within a minimalist’s expression.
