When KM Wood Designs’ Owner Kevin Meske began turning wood and acrylic in his shop into masterfully crafted, unique, and personally cherished items for others, he could not have predicted that these one-on-one personal interactions would lead him to implement more

new design ideas and products into his woodworking craft. However, a change in focus, primarily resulting from the most popular customer requests, has led to expanded product offerings as well as a change in name. (August 1, 2021)

The beauty within each piece stays the same, as does the quality craftsmanship, customer service, professionalism, and uniquely personal touch you’ve come to know from working with Kevin. Each time you purchase items offered by Legacy Turns & Burns, you help to sustain the memories and legacy of a loved one who has passed, or you begin to build your own story that will become part of the legacy you leave behind with the generations that follow. This was the influence behind the choice of “Legacy” as the new identity and brand for Kevin’s work. It is more focused and in-tune with our customers’ wishes as much as it is with the items being created. The “Turns”: Product offerings of beautiful writing instruments, memorial jewelry, keyrings, crochet hooks, and bookmarks first turned on the lathe all remain as a part of the line-up. This product line also includes memorial pendants of either urn or tree of life design, as well as urn keyrings, that can include sealed cremains of a loved one or beloved pet. And “Burns”: This is an expansion of items to choose from for creating or sustaining one’s legacy. Items are first burned with their laser engravings, then finished to complete the look and detail you are after. New product offerings include carving and serving boards, including custom laser “burns” (engravings) such as a family heirloom recipe, favorite photo, or company logo. Also offered are laser-burned bookmarks, hot plates, ceramic tiles, and even more, and with more to come. Yes, we have a new name, a new look, and expanded merchandise options…but it all comes with the quality craftsmanship that you have already come to value and trust. Kevin’s wife Melissa will be increasing her role in the business as well, primarily in administrative and marketing support. As we roll out this transition and become Legacy Turns & Burns, we hope you keep growing with us and help to share this news whenever and wherever you can, as much as you can.
