The Voice In You

I've been busy in the community of Somerset lately! I'm so excited to be working with Lake Cumberland Children's Theatre in their current production of Shrek The Musical junior! These kids are all working so hard, and I'm having a great time working with them. We show in November- be sure to check it out!

I'm also super excited to be working more with Flashback Theater Co.. Check out my ad in the 26-27 annual! I'll be on the stage in the musical Come From Away in June.

For over 30 years, my contribution to theater has been directing, music director, sets, costumes, sound, lighting... I haven't been on this side of a production in a very long time. I am so excited, and I am terrified, and I can't wait to work my butt off to be the best Hannah O'Rourke I can be! Thank you to Sommer Renae Winstead and Billy-Christopher Maupin for believing in me, and giving me the opportunity to grow.

Hello local homeschool families!

My name is Kimberly, and I am a vocal and music coach here in Somerset. I love helping people grow in their voice and confidence, and the skills children and youth learn with me spill into many areas of their lives.

Music is one of the most powerful subjects to study, having a profound impact on math, science, and english test scores, as well as language, social, emotional, cognitive and physical development. I love working with children and teens, and I’d love to work with, and support your amazing kids!

Daytime lesson spots are available, allowing music and voice to be part of your homeschool curriculum, and leaving evenings open for other extra-curriculars and family.

Yes, except... this finding should not have been unexpected. The connection between music and math has been known for many, many years. There's also a connection between music and language, music and science, music and physical movement, and music and social/emotional development.

This study’s unexpected finding highlights the powerful connection between music learning, mathematical thinking, and problem-solving skills.

Music learning supports learning far beyond the music classroom.
