Did you know that wheat cents were designed by Victor David Brenner?
He almost didn’t get the job due to lack of experience with coins.

Also, the first year the wheat cent was minted in 1909, Mr. Brenner put his initials on the back of the coin until production was halted to correct it. 1909 S VDB.
