“I’m fancy,” Duane says with a grin and a quick laugh. When looking at his photo, it’s hard to argue! But beneath that sharp pocket square and his quiet sense of humor is a man built on a foundation of service and integrity. As a 20+ year veteran of the Air Force, Duane brings a level of dedication and a "stand-up guy" approach that you just can't teach.

Duane actually started his journey with us as a loyal Hawthorne Jewelry customer. He loved being treated with respect and honesty, and always looked forward to being greeted by friendly smiles. When the opportunity arose to join the team, he took it. Now that he’s on the other side of the counter, he is committed to ensuring every customer receives that same high-level experience he has always appreciated!

When he isn’t helping you find the perfect piece of jewelry, Duane is the ultimate "Jack of all Trades." Whether he is tackling home remodeling projects or working on cars, he is the family’s go-to handyman for any "Honey-Do" list. He also has a sharp eye for gemstones, specifically the stunning blues of sapphires and the uniquely vibrant shades of green garnets. Ask him to show you his favorite "fancy" picks—you’ll probably end up agreeing with his choice 😉

At home, Duane and his wife, Kriste, are the proud parents of four and grandparents of five. With the "littles" ranging in age from 18 months to 10 years old, he doesn't get the chance to sit still for long. You’ll often find him at the shooting range or playing catch with his 15-pound Shi-Tzu pup, Jaxx, who is famously inseparable from his favorite toy, Lambchop.
