The Outer Banks Relief Foundation proudly supports the adoption of Hope Access, the little red mailbox home at Glenmere Public Beach Access in Kill Devil Hills.

They organized a clean-up effort to keep this cherished area beautiful for everyone.

Our little red mailbox weathered the storm — literally — but thanks to the kind folks who alerted me and the helping hands of my brother-in-law, my sister, Access Design and the Town of Kill Devil Hills, and Terry, it’s back and standing proud. Here’s to keeping the hope alive for all who pass by. ❤️

“I read this article with my students about this really amazing lady who lives at the Outer Banks who put up this "mailbox of hope" for everyone to stop by and write about their messages of hope or struggles they are going through.

I'm heading down there in a couple weeks, so my students are writing some messages for the mailbox, and I can't wait to deliver them.

These messages both warm my heart and break it at the same time, but I'm so glad for the mailbox which gave me the idea for this activity with my students
