A 1.26 ct FLAWLESS spinel from Man Sin Burma, cut in an ancient style that has been making a huge resurgence recently - the "portrait cut." This style, which originated in India centuries ago, produces a gorgeous minimalist look. The customer who reserved this beauty was all-in when I offered this elongated hexagon portrait cut as an ideal option for this piece of rough! Video of this beauty in the comments!

A whole universe on your finger. That's what a gemstone is! Many of you enjoyed the recent chrome tourmaline inclusion photo, so here is another example showing why I'm enamored with the hidden world inside natural gems. Check out the beautiful rutile inclusions inside an unheated/untreated sapphire from Rock Creek, Montana (alongside the actual gem). These photos were taken at extreme magnification, with the image's "field of view" covering only around 2.5 mm of the gem. Mother Nature's artwork on full display 🎨

A blueberry among blueberries! I love having the opportunity to craft the center stones of engagement rings. I am always so honored to be asked to play a part in the creation of such an important symbol. This beautiful couple recently got engaged in Japan with an amazing custom ring featuring a 1.85 ct. blue sapphire from JL White Fine Gemstones! A few kind words from the customer: "Every time I see my fiancés ring, I always think about how grateful I was (and am!) to have you help me create such a special gift. I attached some photos of the ring taken by the proposal photographer in Japan! Every time I see the photos I'm floored by your craftsmanship!"
