Super excited over here!
You all know this career as an artist is my passion!
So being awarded an Artist Career Development Grant through the Central MN Arts Board is definitely one of those culminating moments that feels REALLY GOOD!

Honestly, anytime one of you walk into my booth or stop by the studio and admire my work, or anytime you choose to purchase a piece of my artwork it is one of those culminating feel good moments! ♥️

It’s crazy that I have been working this artist career for 25-28ish years now; full time (no supporting side gigs) since 2020. I call it a lifestyle because my life is wrapped up in the whole lot of it. It certainly is not a 9-5 and leave it at work kind of gig. But it is certainly my kind of gig!

I am always trying to figure out how to do it better though. By now you understand, my favorite is hand fabricating, creating using very traditional methods and techniques, which of course means that there is a lot of love and attention and actual physical effort put into each piece.

This grant is to help me purchase some new studio equipment to help with some of my forming and cutting. As I continue to enjoy working on bigger, more in depth pieces I am hopeful that adding a hydraulic press to my tool arsenal will help take a little burden off my shoulders while also creating efficiency in some of the forming processes.

Please follow me in this journey, because part of my grant expectations is to bring you along on some of the exploration!
